Okay, i'm not gonna lie... "Avatar" looks worth seeing if only for its shiny, shiny computer graphics. And interesting alien critters.
However, I just had a look at the trailer for the game. As we all know, movie-games are usually quite terrible. But aside from that presumption, I had a thought:
"This looks like Starfox Adventures with a bit more jumping around."

In other news, I suddenly became inspired yesterday morning. I thought "Having a fursuit would be.... cool..."
So I'm making some rudimentary plans. Did some research, made a few sketches, browsed my options for fur and other supplies. It will be a half-suit, meaning just head, paw-gloves, footpaws, and a tail. If I decide to go ahead with this, I will begin in a couple of weeks, after school is finally out of my hair.

So I was working on my Bieloph sculpture in Ceramics this morning while the rest of the class went to work on the pansy-ass potter's wheels. As I took the plastic off her and proceeded to spray the drier parts of the sculpture with water, a girl approached me and my work. Looking over from across the table, she said "Oh, what are you working on?" She blinked her eyes a number of times, showing off her clumpy layers of mascara.
"A sculpture... I had extra earthenware so I figured I'd use it," I replied. She walked around to my side of the table to get a closer look. "Oh, wicked!" she exclaimed, creases of foundation powder forming on her face. "So, like, do you want to become a graphic designer?" her head cocked to one side, flipping her salon-treated flat-ironed hair.
I choked, then spat out "No. That's the last thing I want to be!"
More blinking. "Oh really? Why??"
This time I bothered to look up at her from my work. I really didn't understand her connection between sculpture and graphic design. Then again, she was an idiot. So I simply replied "I tried it and I hated it." With that, she said "Oh" and walked away, back to throwing some sissy bowl or cup.
With her back turned I grinned wolfishly. Hilarious.

But really, what was she thinking? I see absolutely no connection with the design of graphics and the design of sculpture or character concepts.
Graphics are typically a two-dimensional medium. They are used in advertisement, web design, product design, television, and what have you. The way I see it, graphic designers are corporate whores who are hired to make whatever a company is foisting on the public look pretty. What I aim to create is a whole different animal. Graphic design is not art. I make art. Creation for the simple sake of creation. I like to make beautiful things, not flashy Adobe Illustrator illusions of beauty.

I am running late for class. But I think I'm done with my rant.
