the sketch was originally of a two-headed creature, but turned into this dude.
i wanted to experiment a little with reversing the common usage of warm and cool colors. began with red canvas (warm) and brought out the shapes with blue-violet (cool).
i have realized that I do not think in terms of lines, but shapes. this is why my artistic focus has shifted from drawing to painting. it's much more comfortable to me.
I really like this, a lot. I've got such a slippery grasp on painting I can't offer much advice, though I think if you used some kind of yellow or tan somewhere, maybe slightly to flesh out the mask or the skin (though the way the face is, it looks undead and that's pretty cool) might liven it up a little. I'm not sure what I mean, I just always find yellow really makes purple pop and seem more alive.
Ehhhh that's just me trying to give feedback and hear what you have to say, as I know so little. It's still awesome either way.
Yeah using a complimentary color would make things pop out a lot more. I just kind of have a thing for duochrome painting. Maybe next time I speed paint I'll keep this advice in mind. I appreciate the feedback.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
